Barbara Mason is truly the HR Insider. She spent 20 years in corporate America working for Fortune 500 companies leading people teams and supporting C-level executives.

She takes you on the “inside” of corporate America and demonstrates how to have success as a small business owner or a corporate professional.

In 2017, she started Career Pathways Consulting while working her 9-5 job because she wanted to live the next part of her life with greater impact and without regret. She often says: “The corporate life was good until it just wasn’t good anymore.” She began to personally “expect greater.’

When the business started, she focused on being a career coach for women. She is passionate about this area because in her 20 year career, she worked in male-dominated environments and lived firsthand with the struggles of being a black female in corporate America.

She has a passion for helping women enjoy their work and be in roles that align with their strengths, interests and values. This is the intersection of greatness and where women are at their highest potential. 

In 2019, Barbara left her 9-5 corporate job to focus on her business 100% and share her impact even more. Since that time, she has had the chance to work with hundreds of women specifically in the areas of career clarity and job search strategies.

In 2021, she expanded her business to work with 6 and 7 figure female small business owners to help them build amazing teams that help them scale their business and increase their revenue. She is able to take her leadership experience in corporate and help them find amazing talent, build solid processes and incorporate retention strategies.

Since she has become a full time entrepreneur, she has had the opportunity to create her own Podcast, It’s All About People, start an apparel and T-shirt line for HR professionals and write a guided journal collection found on Amazon to help those dealing with the loss of loved ones

Personally, Barbara lives on a 75-acre farm with her husband and two children and in her spare time, you will find her spending time in her garden and greenhouse. She is a native of Huntsville, AL and graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management.
