It is Women’s History Month! Now more than ever is the best time to thrive and succeed as a woman. We live in a world where women openly celebrate and empower each other. During this month, I want to highlight women for the next 30 days and help you find inspiration in the journey of some of the most amazing and motivational women.

Here are some favorites below. Let these lessons, teachings and tips inspire you to keep moving relentlessly towards your goals.

Cherish the Journey More than The Destination

“I don’t believe in failure. It is not failure if you enjoyed the process.” – Oprah Winfrey

Reaching our goals or fulfilling our dreams is like running a marathon. It can be overwhelming and intimidating especially if you focus on all the miles you have to run that until the finish line. That’s why shifting your focus from the goal to the journey is important. This makes you appreciate the little things that you have to do in order to finish the race – the early morning trainings, the daily practice runs, the fun you had during the trainings etc. Even just the fact that you showed up is a big deal. If you change your mindset and focus on the present, the fulfillment of your dream will become a lot sweeter. It will definitely taste like a cherry on top of your favorite ice cream.

Be Fearless as You Can Be

“Don’t ever make decisions based on fear. Make decisions based on hope and possibility. Make decisions based on what should happen, not what shouldn’t.” – Michelle Obama

Fear is your worst enemy. It can cripple you and hold you back if you let it. Trying and failing is better than not trying at all. Do not be afraid to get out of your comfort zone because it will allow you to discover your true potential. Say yes more often because the best things in life happen when you put yourself out there.

Get Up and Make It Happen

“Stop wearing your wishbone where your backbone ought to be” – Elizabeth Gilbert

Wishful thinking will not get you anywhere. Don’t just wish for your success to happen. Make it happen. Hold the pen and be the author of your own success story by embracing the ups and downs and loving every bit of plot twist along the way. Work hard, be dedicated to what you want to achieve and give it your 101%.

Do Something That Ignites Your Passion

“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” – Maya Angelou

At the end of the day, true success is measured by the amount of happiness and value your career brings into your life. As they say choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. However, it’s not that easy and simple. Some may get lucky to find their passion and get their dream job at the onset, but some may take years to even discover it. The most important thing is to listen to your inner voice and acknowledge that calling. It starts by believing in yourself – believing that you are capable, you are talented and that you have what it takes to pursue the dream that you are most passionate about. Life is too short to be wasting time and energy on the things that don’t make you happy.

These are just a few of the many women we can draw inspiration from. Know that these women are no different than you. You are just as smart and just as talented. That means you have access to the same possibilities. Be encouraged this month and going forward that you have the ability to have the career you desire. Now, just EXPECT GREATER.
