“I hate my job!”
Have you ever said those words when you roll over to press the snooze button on Monday morning? What about when you are pulling in the parking lot and it is time to walk in the building?

Survey results show that on average 50% of people do not enjoy their jobs!
Most of us work an average of 40 hours a week for 40 years. That is a long time to hate your job or be dissatisfied.

Have you ever thought about the real reason
you may hate your job?

Is it your boss and their leadership style? Is it the amount of money you get paid? Is it the work environment or the culture? Is it the actual work you do? You see…there could be several factors as to why you hate your job. The solution is to find out why!

Finding out why, takes you from a complaining or neutral state to an active and solution minded state.

I would first encourage you to ask yourself these questions:

  • What parts of my job do I enjoy?
  • What parts do I least enjoy?

This is a starting point to begin evaluating and uncovering what are the things that are causing you to hate your job.

Then, I am going to suggest you go deeper and then ask yourself these questions:

  • What is my true personality?
  • What would be my ideal job and ideal work environment?
  • What are my greatest strengths?
  • What do I enjoy?
It is important that we know and understand the answers to the four questions posed above. We must move from saying we hate our job to finding out why!

Did you jot these answers down quickly because you assuredly know the answers to all of them? Or did you struggle to answer because you have never taken the time to evaluate or you never considered its relevance?

Most people cannot readily answer these questions or have thought the answers were relevant. It is indeed relevant and there should definitely be alignment between your answers to these four questions and the job you choose to be in for 40 hours a week for 40 years.

Often times when we find ourselves in a job that we hate or a job we are not satisfied in…it is because we have never gone back to the root of the issue which is ourselves and who we truly are!

One of our greatest opportunities in life is to discover our greatest strengths and meld them together with our greatest interests and create a beautiful mixture called passion. Passion is the ingredient to enjoying your 40 hours a week for 40 years!

However, in our society we have melded high income + hottest job trends to try and co-create passion. We quickly find out that passion is not and cannot be created from that formula.

We each have a unique design that that can create passion for us if we would honor it.
